This page explains what happens to your information when you use Agreebuddy. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than dense legal language, and to keep it accurate to exactly what the tool actually does.
When you paste text, upload a file, or scan a URL, that content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the analysis you see. We do not store the text of your documents on our own servers — it's processed for the single request and then discarded on our end. Anthropic's handling of that data (including their own retention practices) is governed by their own privacy policy, which applies to API traffic sent through Agreebuddy.
When you upload a file, it's read and converted to text entirely inside your own browser — the file itself is never uploaded to our servers. Only the extracted text is sent to us to be analyzed, in the same way as if you'd pasted it directly.
When you paste a URL instead of pasting text, our server fetches that specific page directly in order to pull out its readable text. We don't store the fetched page beyond that single request, and we don't use it for any purpose other than generating your analysis.
If you enter your email to join the browser extension waitlist, that email address is stored so we can notify you when the extension is available. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information for security and reliability purposes — things like IP address, timestamps, and which pages were requested. We don't use this data for tracking, profiling, or advertising.
Agreebuddy doesn't currently have user accounts, logins, or payment processing, so we don't collect passwords or payment information.
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Agreebuddy isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
